morze infoshop has been founded by budapest-located anarchists and activists in about 2006-2007. the first generation of morze infoshop activists was connected with free space/social centers Közért and AK47 and the majority of them were also actively participating on squatting and anti-gentrification actions of Centrum Csoport group. later the infoshop moved physically to facilities of Centre of Independent Arts Tűzraktér and became majorly maintained by activists around anarchist and activist living community Freeport and some others. After Freeport has split and Tűzraktér got evicted, the library and material basis of Morze Infoshop was moved into an informal activist meeting point Bacso Club, and later partly taken care by newly formed queer-feminist activist group Klit. the more or less continuous event-organizing had been mantained – already without “ownership” of fixed, separate place or room – by a group calling itself invariably Morze Infoshop. The events were organized mainly at ruin-pub Fogasház and the Morze Infoshop collective became more or less identical with part of an activist group of radical social workers called Budapest Roma Community Support Group. the last event organized by “old” Morze Infoshop happened in February 2012, after which the majority of BRCSG left the country, and those who stayed focused rather on the main priority of the activist group – the radical social fieldwork. at the same time the Klit group rose it`s level of activity and organized lots of great events and actions similarily as the previously mentioned crew of informal activist meeting point Bacso Club (you can read more on their activities on their blogs and websites).
in summer of 2014 more BRCSG activists returned or returned partly to Budapest – and some new people have joined – so we decided to continue the infoshop event organizing, hopefully on a regular base.
